What is sugarcane bagasse?

Bagasse is the residue or pulp of sugarcane that has undergone extraction. It is considered a waste product and is normally burned after the extraction of sugarcane.

How does it help the environment?

Since bagasse is a waste product, the raw material does not have any additional carbon footprint.

Air pollution due to burning of bagasse is also avoided.

Products decompose in a landfill after 45 days unlike plastics and other materials that take years to decompose

Do you use PFAs on your products?

PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroakyl susbtances) are synthetic chemicals used for various purposes. Other types of food packaging may use this to repel oil and water. However, there are claims that these chemicals are harmful to health.

Econtainer products are certified to not contain any PFAs. Instead, we use 100% cassava starch coating as a natural alternative for making our products oil and water resistant.

Can I bake using your containers?

Yes, it's oven and microwave oven safe. It can withstand up to 250°C/450°F. However, please take note that the PET lids are not microwaveable.

Can I reuse the containers and straws?

As much as possible, in the interest of food safety, we discourage reusing our containers as these are not meant to be washed and reused.

How do we properly compost your products?

Our products will compost effectively in commercial composting facilities or landfills where oxygen is available. But if you wish to compost at home, it may take longer than 45 days. We suggest breaking it down into smaller pieces and mixing it with your soil.

How long before my orders are ready for pick-up?

Upon receipt of order and payment, we require at least 1-2 business days for processing.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes, we can ship nationwide. Shipping cost will be charged to the customer and cost will be based on order quantity and location.
